The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has asserted that the majority of NPP bigwigs are firmly behind the candidature of Vice President Bawumia.

In a post on social media, Mr Ofosu Nkansah, a known supporter of the Bawumia flagbearer bid, said aside from the party bigwigs, most polling station executives of the party are also in the Bawumia camp.

“Dr Bawumia does not only have almost all the bigwigs of our Party and tradition behind him, he also has majority of the Polling Station Executives behind him,” he said on Twitter.

The Vice President is widely seen as the frontrunner for the NPP flagbearer position, although he is yet to officially declare his intention to run.

Bawumia faces competition from former Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and former Agriculture Minister, Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

A few others have shown interest in the race but according to analysts, Dr Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanten are the frontrunners.
