The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has donated Ghc 100,000 to support the construction of a new Divisional Police Command for the Ejura-Sekyedumase municipality in the Ashanti Region.
Dr Bawumia made the donation during a short meeting with the chief of the Ejura Traditional Area, Barima Osei Hwedie II in Accra on Sunday, November 12th 2022.
The donation is to fund the roofing of the storey building of the new Ejura-Sekyedumase Divisional Police Command headquarters, which is expected to house over 100 police officers in the municipality.
During the presentation, Dr Bawumia said it was his utmost wish that the project is completed on time to beef up security in the area.
The Veep pledged his commitment to supporting authorities at Ejura to maintain law and order in the area.
Chief of Ejura Traditional Area Barima Osei Hwedie II who welcomed the support said, Dr. Bawumia’s kind gesture was timely, going on to praise the vice president for his continuous support of the development of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality and Ashanti Region as a whole.
“Dr. Bawumia’s efforts to ensure that Ejura Traditional Council’s vision of putting up a place for the municipality’s Divisional Police Headquarters come through is unprecedented. We are very lucky to have the support of no other than the vice president who is keen on working towards enhancing peace and security of Ejura Residents.
“We at Ejura are wishing him well in all his future endeavors and we hope he will continue to shine in his political career and help others “ the chief said.
During the initial stages of the project, Dr Bawumia made a donation of 1000 bags of cement and Ghc50,000 to aid the completion of the project.
