Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has called for President Akufo-Addo to heed the pleas of Ghanaians and work on solving the country’s current challenges.
According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker, Akufo-Addo appears to be asleep on the job and unaware of how deeply Ghanaians are suffering.
George took to social media to rant and rave against the President amidst the skyrocketing cost of living, galloping inflation and unending depreciation of the cedi against the U.S dollar in particular.
“Dear President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, after 3 horrendous weeks of a constantly declining currency, you are yet to have the decency and courtesy to address the Nation. What is wrong with you? Don’t you realise Ghanaians are suffering? Have your handlers not told you what is happening?” George wrote.
“What are you waiting for before speaking to us as our President? This goes beyond being incompetent, clueless, hapless and downright unfit for the office you occupy. Sir, this is wickedness in high places! Awake from your slumber and address the Nation. The true essence of a Leader is felt in the face of adversity. Not in verbose flowery statements made in plagiarised speeches. Somebody wake Mr. President from his deep sleep!”
The President is currently dealing with a crisis in his own party as over 80 Members of the majority caucus have called for the head of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to the MPs, sacking Ofori-Atta would help restore confidence in the Ghanaian economy.
