Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has described Asiedu Nketia as a provocateur whose ascension to a higher position in the party would be detrimental to the party’s future.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben Fm, he said Nketia manipulates people in the party and deliberately provokes them to keep team on their toes.
He also said that Nketia ‘thinks he’s smarter than anybody’ and sows lines of division.
“Asiedu-Nketiah, he is one of those people. He thinks he is smarter than anybody… He likes to provoke, he will provoke, and if you make a mistake and you go after him, he will sit and he will laugh,” he said. “Asiedu-Nketiah thinks that he can just sit down, manipulate the party’s constitution, and get away with it, but he failed at my end.” he said.
Anyidoho added that the party was divided into pro-Mills and pro-Mahama factions by people like Asiedu Nketia, which he doesn’t understand because as far as he’s concerned there is only one NDC.
“There were strong lines of division created by some persons, they say pro-Mills, pro-Mahama, as far as I am concerned there is only one NDC that is my orientation,” he said.
He added that people who thought he was pro-Mills tried to have him removed from the party, fingering Asiedu Nketia as one of them.
Anyidoho also revealed Nketia broke an oath to him.
He revealed that there was a time people were pushing him to contest Asiedu Nketia for General Secretary and he refused to do so.
After, Nketia thanked him and promised to step down after the next elections for him to take over – evidently, that never happened.
