Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh(NAPO), has asked members of the NPP not to vote for NDC as that decision disrupts development of the region.
According to NAPO, the Ashanti Region has seen tremendous development during the reign of President Akufo-Adoo even though his eight-year term is yet to end.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh in his speech also admonished people in the region who have made their minds to vote for the NDC to reconsider such decisions stressing that such a move would not be to the betterment of the region.
“I can say it confidently that, anyone who will vote for the NDC does not want the betterment of the Ashanti Region. For six years now, there has been no shortage of food, and if we do not say thank you to God and show appreciation to Nana Addo, then we are inviting curses on ourselves”, he added.
He has therefore lashed out some individuals and groupings in the Ashanti Region who appear ungrateful to President Akufo-Addo as he says there is no reason for anyone to say the President is underperforming.
“Don’t be ungrateful. Asante has a memory of appreciation, don’t let us be ungrateful. The extent of our appreciation and being grateful is that we will continue to support the NPP till thy Kingdom come”, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said this in Kumasi at the Sod cutting Ceremony of the much-awaited Suame Interchange as part of President Akufo-Addo’s tour in the Ashanti Region.
The Energy Minister also noted that, if Akufo-Addo had succeeded President John Agyekum Kufuor after his term in the years 2008, Kumasi would have been known as the Golden City.
“But because we didn’t get another eight years, Kumasi became a city of the refuse dump. There was refuse everywhere. Do you see refuse anymore after Nana Addo came to power?” He asked.
