Professor John Evans Atta Mills passed away in 2012 after falling ill. He served one term in office from 2009 till his death.
He was credited with giving opportunities to several young politicians in the party including Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The North Tongu MP has since built up his career to outstanding levels and is now generally considered one of the best lawmakers in the House.
Recently, he was in the news after securing employment for former NABCO workers in his constituency.
Ablakwa successfully negotiated with a Chinese company operating in North Tongu to employ all the 97 NABCO workers in the Constituency after the program was cancelled by the government.
