Former Deputy Sports and Ashanti Regional Minister Joseph Yamin, says President Akufo-Addo’s has only insulted the people of Ashanti region on his tour which has not been beneficial.
According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) bigwig the posture and commentary since he began, his four-day tour of the region is just to spite and insult residents of the region.
Making inferences from speeches delivered by the President at Manhyia and on radio platforms, Mr. Yammin noted that the actions of Nana Addo are well calculated and supported by current executives of the NPP and the regional minister.
Joseph Yamin says, the President’s posturing in his public engagement has exposed his negative feelings towards the region and Asanteman.
He made these comments on Kumasi-based Ultimate 106.9 FM monitored by MyNewsgh.com while he was being hosted on their breakfast show, Cup Of Tea by Julius Caesar Anadem.
“Any time a President comes to town he is briefed on happenings before he moves to meet the people and I know that same was done for Nana Addo’’
“Nana Addo has made the week so bad by insulting the people of Ashanti region”
“I don’t know why the NPP will bring Nana Addo to Kumasi in these difficult times, just for him to come and insult us and go, I am very worried”
“He started insulting the chiefs at Manhyia palace, went to the commission of the konongo hospital, insulted the people there and yesterday he did same” he said.
“He was coached by the NPP; he won’t say what he said if the people disagree with him”
“But did you see his body language and how he spoke when he was at Manhyia, how do you tell people that they are blind and can’t see the development the NPP has done. You don’t speak that way, he only came here to insult us” he said.
“In any case, should it take Nana Addo, who is not living with us here to come from Accra and tell us what he has done”, he wondered.
“Why, can’t we feel or see it, if indeed he has done something. This government has failed, they need to admit it, that is all, these insults won’t help matters’’, he advised.
Mr. Yammin says people should go back to videos of the president in 2016 and videos today and do a comparative analysis of his actions.
“In 2016 he was sober, but today he is telling Ashanti’ he is done with them and that he can speak anyhow to them because he does not need them again”
