The Paramount Chief of Namong traditional area and former Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the North East region, Daniel Bugri Naabu has touted the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best person to lead NPP into the 2024 election.
He believes that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the only hope of the New Patriotic Party going into election 2024.
He said, with the Vice President at the helm of affairs, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is assured of a victory and Ghana will also benefit from his intellect and ingenuity.
“With Bawumia we win finish. I will say the five Northern Regions the NPP will take all. With Bawumia we will have block votes in the five regions but without Bawumia we will lose all. NDC has demonstrated already a Northerner has become the President, and CPP has done it,” he said in broken English Language.
According to the Paramount chief, the former President John Dramani Mahama has nothing left in him to offer Ghanaians as he supervised the long dumsor in the history of Ghana and as such Dr. Bawumia is the only hope.
“John has nothing to offer Ghana because he has been Vice President and President for eight years. If he had something to give us he would have done it. Nobody will want John back to bring dumsor so Bawumia is the only option”.
Commenting on the recent attack on the vice President with some labelling him as a novice in the NPP, Mr. Bugri Naabu defended Dr. Bawumia and urged the party to desist from such utterances.
But Bugri Naabu who was speaking in an interview with Despite Media’s Peace FM said such claims should not be encouraged.
He indicated that the Vice President was born into the NPP and has been an NPP member even on the day of his birth.
“I hear somebody was describing as a stranger in the party. I don’t know of the person is actually well NPP man. Maybe he wants to break the party because how can you say Bawumia is a stranger? It’s wrong.
Bawumia’s father was NPP, he’s from where I come from so what are you telling us? Dombo was, Jedu Kalio, B.K Adama, Braimah…So what are you saying? Are you saying that Mumuni Bawumia…they were all in NPP. It was the Northern Peoples Party which moved to UP. What they are saying, if they don’t stop using those utterances it will provoke the North,” he said.
