Former Net 2 TV journalist, Kweku Annan, has alleged that he was sacked because he was about to expose some politically connected pastors, and not because he attacked Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Kweku Annan revealed in a recent rant that he had damaging expose’s against Dag-Heward Mills and other top pastors ready to roll on his show The Seat and that he was fired to stop those expose’s from airing.
The journalist was recently fired by Net 2 TV, owned by businessman and politician Kennedy Agyapong.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament claimed Annan’s dismissal was because he attacked Agyapong’s NPP flagbearer rival, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, with whom he wants to maintain good relations despite their Presidential rivalry.
However, in a recent video, Annan denied that claim and said he was sacked for entirely different reasons.
He said Kennedy Agyapong’s son, Kenneth, who runs the Kencity Media empire, personally stopped some of his expose’s and knows exactly what he’s talking about.
“Kenneth Takyi Agyapong, his own son came to tell me his father has asked that we halt the exposé. Let Kennedy Agyapong come out and deny it, I have given him an example with that of Dag Heward-Mills, which he halted. You cancelled it, that we should stop, what then was my offense?” he quizzed.
“Go and ask Ken Agyapong why he blocked the investigation,” he continued. “Was Kennedy Agyapong honest about that job or he wanted us to pick and choose who to hound? Which one? Part of it was political, that there was going to be elections and the management stood in the way and cancelled almost all the other investigations.
“Let Kenneth come and belie what I am saying, let Kenneth and Ken come out and deny my claims,” he challenged in a video posted on the YouTube channel, NUKKS TV.
