Former Finance Minister and Senior Presidential Advisor, Yaw Osafo Marfo says the NDC has no policy alternatives to govern the country.
While admitting that there is economic hardship in the country, he says the government is working to fix the economy.
Addressing a durbar at Ofoase in the Eastern Region, the former Finance Minister said voting for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not the alternative to solving the economic woes.
“We all know the economy is not in good shape,” he said in vernacular.
“The economic challenge is not from Ghana. If something is not from you, you have to take your time to strategically resolve it. It won’t keep long and we will work on the economic challenge.
“Those who are seeking to govern this country, I don’t understand them. They aren’t providing any alternatives. They actually don’t have anything to offer,” he subtly jabbed the NDC.
He expressed optimism that the crisis will soon be over as measures are in place to bring the economy back on its feet.
Mr Osafo Marfo was part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s entourage on a three-day tour to the Eastern Region.
Unlike in Kumasi, the President received a rousing welcome in his home region perhaps due to the near completion of the the Nkawkaw-Abirem-Ofoase Road.
The President inspected the 35.50-kilometre road, which is 83.9 percent complete.
He also inspected ongoing works on two health projects under the Agenda 111, a 1D1F project for ceramic and as well commissioned an Astro turf.
“I am very happy the road is almost complete. Travelling on this road was a challenge. I wish to thank you all for the support.”
The Road Minister, Kwasi Amoako Attah, says 40 road projects have been completed whilst 293 separate roads have been awarded in the Eastern Region.
