Ghanaian legal practitioner and media personality, Maurice Ampaw, has praised Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, for becoming more mature in his political utterances ever since declaring his intention to run for President.
According to Ampaw, the maverick loudmouth has completely toned down from his former bombastic self, describing his evolution as impressive.
However, Ampaw maintained that Kennedy is still not ready to lead the NPP and must first serve under a more battle-tested leader such as Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia before he will be ready to take over the party.
“Kennedy Agyapong has improved…he has become more tolerant these days. Kennedy is more mature in his politics, I can say in honesty, he is an honest politician and with that, he has upped his game and some of us are admiring him from afar,” Ampaw said during a panel discussion on Wontumi TV on Monday, September 6th 2022.
“He is a material that if nurtured and given time, Kennedy has the potential of leading the nation…Looking at Kennedy Agyapong currently, he needs a little bit of training, just as Bawumia went into the wilderness to serve Nana Addo and now everyone says it is his time, Kennedy Agyapong should also note that if you don’t serve, you will not be served,” Ampaw added.
Ampaw’s comments come at a time when Kennedy Agyapong has intensified his campaign to become the next flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Agyapong is busily campaigning all over the country ahead of the NPP Presidential primary, where he is expected to face steep competition from Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Trade and Industry Minister, Alan ‘Cash’ Kyeremanten.
