Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the government of Ghana is trusting God for his guidance to aid the recovery of the economy.
Dr Bawumia, speaking during the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Liberty Center Assemblies of God in Accra, said despite the harsh economic challenges, God has been gracious to the country which has led to a turnaround in fortunes in recent weeks.
“Government recognizing the challenges will continue to work hard while trusting God for His guidance to advance the country,” Dr Bawumia said.
The Vice President said the government has put in place many measures which are now bearing fruit.
Addressing the church which was celebrating its Golden Jubilee focused on Declaring the Goodness of God, Vice President Bawumia commended the Church for its efforts to establish a hospital to serve the community which perfectly complements the government’s Agenda 111 initiative.
Bawumia further expressed gratitude to the Church for its immense contribution to the economic development of Ghana.
The 50th Anniversary Celebrations of the Liberty Center Assemblies of God in Accra was a joyous occasion with church members turning up in special anniversary clothes whilst singing praises and dancing to the Glory of God.
Started in 1972, the church was initially simply a gathering for morning devotion in the premises of the late Rosina Kweifio-Okai but has now grown to encompass a membership of more than 2000.
Dr Bawumia attended the event alongside the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister of Railways and Development Minister, Joe Ghartey and the Director General of the NLA, Sammy Awuku among other dignitaries.
