54% of Ghanaians are in support of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stepping down from his position due to the ongoing economic crisis, a new poll from Global InfoAnalytics has found.
Another 78% of respondents also want the Economic Management Team (EMT), led by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to be completely replaced by a new team.
These findings were contained in a latest poll by the firm Global InfoAnalytics conducted between October 31st and November 1st 2022 and sampling respondents from all 16 regions of Ghana.
According to the poll, 54% of respondents wanted the President to resign over the current hot economic climate characterised by soaring inflation, high cost of goods and services and burdening debt.
However, 40% of respondents also wanted the President to continue.
As mentioned earlier, 78% of respondents also wanted the EMT to be disbanded whilst 18% called for them to continue.
Ghanaians were also asked who they think could better manage the current economy and 43% chose John Dramani Mahama.
Other options were Alan Kyeremanten with 17%, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with 14%, Kennedy Agyapong with 8% and Kwabena Agyepong with 1%.

According to their October 2022 survey on the 2024 election, ex-President John Mahama would beat both Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanten, if they were the chosen candidates for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), by significant margins.
Mahama polled 62% against 33% for Dr. Bawumia, whilst he polled 60% to 36% for Alan Kyeremanten.
