The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has left Accra, to represent Ghana at the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect, William Ruto of Kenya.

The Vice President left Ghana for Nairobi, Kenya to grace the occasion after the supreme court of Kenya affirmed the Presidential election.

Vice President Bawumia will return to Accra on Wednesday, 14th September.

He was accompanied by the 2nd Lady, Mrs. Samira Bawumia, Thomas Mbomba, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and other Senior government officials.

William Samoei Arap Ruto, President-elect of Kenya until his election was the vice president to Uhuru Kenyata.

It is believed that, the relationship between the two men deteriorated causing the President to throw his support behind the opposition candidate Raila Odinga against his vice president.
