Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has exposed an alleged plot from General Secretary Asiedu Nketia to use ‘Ahotor’ project items from his Chairmanship campaign.
Anyidoho claimed in a tweet that the NDC party turned their ire to Dr Duffour’s project because of General Mosquito, as the General Secretary had plans to use the donations for his own nefarious purposes.
He posted on Twitter: “Asiedu-Nketiah wants to perfidiously benefit from the sweat of Dr. Kwabena Dufuor: he wants Dr. Dufuor to hand over the Ahotor Project items to him so he can distribute and use it to campaign for his Chairmanship agenda. Asiedu-Nketiah shall NOT have his way oooo!!!”
The Ahotor project is a grassroots campaign started by Dr Kwabena Duffour. The purpose is ostensibly to help the party’s grassroots with equipment and other items.
After it was kicked off, ‘General Mosquito’ publicly attacked Dr Duffour for deceiving NDC leadership.
According to the NDC General Secretary, the norm in the party is for the donations to be made to party leadership for onward distribution to the grassroots as the NDC constitution demands.
However, Dr Kwabena Duffour has been running the ‘Ahotor’ campaign via an NGO, something the NDC scribe says goes against the party’s constitution,
Reacting, Kokou Anyidoho accused the General Secretary of planning to use the items donated by Dr Duffour to further his own campaign to run for party chairman.
