The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ellembelle Constituency in Western Region has accused Member of Parliament Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah of playing politics with the death of their member.
According to constituency executive of the NPP, the MP is crying more than the bereaved in the sudden death of Andrew Donkor, a former polling stating executive of the New Patriotic Party.
Andrew Donkor, a former polling station executive of the NPP was pronounced dead after he was shot on the premises of Nkroful Magistrate Court during the prosecution of some illegal small scale miners.
The Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Kofi Buah has taken up the matter after he filed a a civil right suit at the Accra High Court again Adamus Resources Limited Mines and the chief of Defense Staff for their alleged role in the death of his constituent.
According to him, the state seems unconcerned about the investigation of the matter hence his involvement to seek justice for the victim.
However, the Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the MP for neglecting the family and has rather gone to court which according to them is a face saving gimmick.
The NPP chairman said the 8years reign of Hon. Kofi Buah in the constituency has not yielded any results and as such his pursuit for justice for the victim is needless as that does not solve the main issue .
“What we want is to draw his attention to is that the case he is pursuing at the court is needless. The cause of the incident is what he should find answers to; the Ellembelle community needs land to mine. They want land from Adamus to mine. If they had that land, the incident would not have occurred,” he said.
