Veteran media personality Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has slammed Good Evening Ghana host Paul Adom-Otchere, describing him as a fool.

Captain Smart attacked the Metro TV television host, describing him as an example of a person who has become a fool due to politics.

Smart’s comments were made on his Onua TV show and was a response to Paul Adom Otchere’s editorial in response to recent comments by fashionista Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) about the Finance Minister’s bank, Databank and their roles in government borrowing.

KKD had complained after learning that Databank serves as ‘transaction advisors’ to the government on borrowing hence they make money every time the government of Ghana borrows money.

He described the situation as sickening that as Ghana get poorer, Ken Ofori-Atta gets richer.

“I read a report yesterday that broke my heart. I saw how much Ghana owes but I also found that apparently, the minister of finance’s company or former company, is the transaction advisor to the monies we borrow. So, as Ghana gets poorer, the minister of finance’s company or former company gets richer,” KKD said in an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show.

In response, Paul Adom-Otchere released an editorial on his show, Good Evening Ghana, taking aim at the fashionista and describing his rant a product of jealousy.

“I agree with KKD, people can’t take up government contracts and set up a company, that I agree with. But the references he is making are to people whose companies have not been set up today, they have been doing that work already,” he began.

Adom-Otchere continued: “So I come to sit on TV and say David Awauh-Darko, I’m older than him, he is a small boy and he came from nowhere, now he is a Minister of Finance and IC Securities are doing government business; that’s not analysis, that’s envy.”

“That’s not analysis, that’s pure jealousy, envy and it is foolishness,”

Captain Smart Responds

Ticked off by the Metro TV journalist’s claims, Captain Smart, who prides himself as an anti-corruption crusader, rained heavy attacks on Paul Adom-Otchere.

“…Paul Adom-Otchere is my senior but he is a fool. The Asante Bediatuo and Gabby who have been giving you money say you’re an idiot. You’re fooling a lot. Stop it,” Captain Smart ranted.

“Why do you want to redefine conflict of interest? If you are not careful, politics will make you a useless being at the disadvantage of the ordinary,”
