Member of Parliament for Assin Central and NPP Presidential Candidate for 2024, Honourable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has revealed that he doesn’t know how much he earns as a Member of Parliament.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, he uses his salary as an MP to pay school fees for his constituents every month.

The maverick politician and aspiring President made these comments during a speech at his ‘Guidance Conference with Kennedy Agyapong’ event.

Agyapong said: “I use my parliamentary salary to pay school fees for constituents. As I speak to you, I don’t know how much I make as a parliamentarian, because I put it in a separate account and I always give it out to people who are needy. That is what I do,”

According to him, people who succeed in life are those who make things happen for themselves rather than depend on the government to make their lives easier.

Agyapong emphatically said that no government can make life better for anyone but it’s down to the populace to make their lives better.

“Those who believe that with government I’m not going to make it therefore I will struggle in life myself and change my life around, they are the ones who will succeed in life. But those who fold their hands and [depend on government], you are going to fail You will fail,” Mr Agyapong said.

“Anybody who relies on government for every existence of that person will fail. Anyone who thinks everything in their life has to be catered to by government will not succeed, because government cannot take care of everyone,”

The Guidance Conference with Kennedy Agyapong was a conference held by the Assin Central MP in Takoradi Friday, August 19th 2022.

The event saw the legislator addressing the audience on a variety of topics concerning the current state of Ghana and the way forward.
