Former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North, Issah Fuseini has advised Ghanaians to be wary of the return of former President John Mahama.
He says, Ghanaian should be panic-stricken by the mere mention of the former President as his name reminds us of painful past.
According to him, John Mahama has nothing new to offer if allowed to steer the affairs of the country again and that Ghanaian should be wary and not entertain such thoughts.
He made these remarks when he was contributing to last week’s discussion on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show.
He said, John Mahama has had the opportunity to be president before and he should have used that to better the lots of Ghanaians but failed and as such don’t deserve any chance again.
The former lawmaker said, the economy under the former president was left in shambles even though there were no external challenges like it is today.
Responding to his co-panelist, MP for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George, he said the crave for John Mahama return is like asking for the past.
“My friend [Sam Nartey George] keeps mentioning that it is the renaissance or the what of John Mahama. It’s amazing. The mentioning of his excellency the former President John Dramani Mahama is akin to the bankye dada or the old duade [old cassava].. I mean it’s nothing new.”he said.
He added that the president is not the messiah to save the country from a global challenge as the world is facing and that when he has opportunity he could not perform.
“This is a man we have seen rule this country for 5 years. I’m sure that if you have such opportunity, whatever you could do you show. It’s in the annals of this country, I mean politically when there were global challenges, where there was no covid, when things were virtually on silver platter for him, we saw where he took this economy and where he left it.
“So mentioning John Mahama and his coming, it’s even for us all to panic because I am not sure Ghanaians are ready to go back to the period from about Midway 2012 to 2016 where they took us so it’s is not something on the table,” Issah Fuseini on Friday October 21, 2022.
