The former President John Mahama is billed to speak on Ghana’s economy according to the his aide, Joyce Bawa Mogtari.

According  Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the speech is scheduled to take place on 27th October, 2022.

In a post shared via her social media handles, the former deputy minister described Ghana’s economy as “collapsed”.

The former President is therefore expected to provide some solutions which if taken, can put Ghana on the path of recovery and ensure the economy bounces back.

Her post announcing the former President’s event said “Good morning everyone. John Mahama speaks on Ghana’s collapsed economy and the unprecedented hardships sweeping across the land and the way forward on Thursday 27th October at 7 pm”.

Prior to this period, the former President had advised the government on the need to go to the IMF for a bailout since things didn’t look good for Ghana’s economy but his advice was relegated till a later date when things went sour before the government took the initiative

John Dramani Mahama has also in the past suggested that government consults and take ideas from people with the needed expertise in the country to make the country better; this has also fallen on deaf ears.

Currently, the standard of living in Ghana has risen to astronomical levels making life unbearable for citizens. The exchange rate is exposing the country’s weak fundamentals each day.

The former president has recently said global development has impacted every economy in the world.

Speaking to VOA he noted that the Russia Ukraine was has affected the global economy, skyrocketing global inflation.
