A pattern of boos
A few weeks after encountering boos during the Global Citizen Festival in Accra, President Akufo-Addo was faced with the same situation at Adum in the NPP stronghold of Kumasi.
Traders at the Adum Market in Kumasi’s Central Business District hooted at the President’s convoy as it drove through the area in yet another embarrassing incident.
The traders hooted, jeered and booed to register their displeasure with the performance of the Akufo-Addo-led government on the economy.
Earlier, a similar incident occurred at the Global Citizen Festival.
The President was booed by angry attendees after appearing on a chyron to deliver his prepared remarks.
An irate crowd at the Global Citizen Festival hooted at the President as he appeared on-screen to deliver his remarks on the event.
The crowd started chanting and hooting at the President, apparently out of frustration at the current difficult economic conditions in the country.
A video of the event surfaced online as the crowd could be heard rhythmically chanting: “away, away,”
The President delivered his remarks on the screen as he pointed out how the whole has descended on Ghana for the festival.
