The steering committee and the National Executive Council (NEC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will meet on Tuesday (31 January 2023) to set a date for the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries, the general secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua, has announced.

Speaking on the Kumasi-based Hello FM, Kodua said the party will put in place mechanisms to ensure a fair internal election.

“On 31 January 2023, the NPP steering committee and the National Executive Council (NEC) will meet and they will decide the dates for the two important party polls,” Kodua said.

“As the general secretary of this great party, I promise to ensure a free and fair internal poll to elect our next presidential and parliamentary candidates.

“Take this from me: I will not take sides in these two crucial elections,” he said.
