A group calling itself Bawumia Must Win (BMW) has warned NPP supporters who are in favour of the candidacies of other Presidential aspirants to focus on projecting the strengths of their candidates rather than attacking Bawumia.
According to BMW, it is extremely sad how these supporters of other candidates focus on tearing Bawumia down rather than promoting their own candidates.
In a statement signed by BMW National President, Gyesi Boako, the group said: “It is sad how these individuals rather than creating their own catchy brands like ‘BMW’ to project their candidate have resorted to name-calling and innuendos.”
According to the group, supporters of other candidates subjecting the vice president’s name to public ridicule do not make their preferred candidates better but the work of the opposition easier.
Below are details of the full statement:
STOP ATTACKING DR. BAWUMIA’S BRAND AND FOCUS ON YOUR MESSAGE
The camp of Bawumia Must Win (BMW) has taken notice of deliberate attacks on the latest marketing brand of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by supporters of some flagbearer hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on social media.
It is sad how these individuals, rather than creating their own catchy brands like ‘BMW’ to project their candidates have resorted to name-calling and innuendos. It begs to reason that, subjecting the Vice President’s name to public ridicule does not make your candidate better but the work of the opposition easier.
We, as a party cannot continue to be breaking ourselves before we attempt to ‘break the eight (8)”. Our ultimate goal must be to win the 2024 general elections. It’s therefore important our actions and inactions reflect discipline and respect for one another in order to attract more floating voters to the party. After all, politics is about numbers.
Let’s all project our candidates devoid of unnecessary innuendos, and avoid stepping on the toes of others for the betterment of the party.
Kukrudu Eshi Rado Rado.
Thank you.
Gyesi Boako
(NATIONAL PRESIDENT, BAWUMIA MUST WIN)
