Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, were all smiles after meeting at the funeral of the late mother of Lawyer Kwame Gyan.
Dr Bawumia and Agyapong exchanged greetings in a cordial manner whilst smiling, with the moment captured on camera and shared online.
The meeting comes after recent political attacks from the Assin Central lawmaker on the Veep as the MP tries to take an early lead in the upcoming battle for the NPP’s flagbearer position.
Agyapong’s vitriolic attacks have received no response from the elegant Veep, and Bawumia showed no animosity towards Agyapong despite being unfairly attacked.
A video shared on Twitter shows the moment the two met at the funeral grounds of the late mother of Lawyer Kwame Gyan.
The video showed the veep greeting a smiling Agyapong with his back to the cameras.
Bawumia proceeded to greet, hug and wave at other people at the funeral grounds.
“His Excellency Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (@MBawumia) earlier this morning attended the funeral of the late mother of Lawyer Kwame Gyan. The love is deep! #DaakyeHene,” the tweet was captioned.

Earlier this week, Kennedy Agyapong went on a foul-mouthed tirade as he often does, threatening to end the campaign of Vice President Bawumia over some alleged disrespect shown to him.
Agyapong cried foul over NPP executives in the North reportedly refusing to allow him to meet delegates in the region.
According to him, the executives are playing foul and bringing division into the party which has the possibility of jeopardising their chances of ‘breaking the 8’ in 2024.
He warned that if those antics aren’t stopped, he will sabotage the campaign of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on whose behalf he believes the Northern NPP executives are acting.
”Dr Bawumia please check these regional executives they are destroying the party the in those regions. Dr Bawumia cannot win an election without me. If Dr Bawumia wins fairly I will fully support him but if he wins unfairly, I have a mouth, radio and television stations… I will use it to shut the campaign down,” he blustered.
Despite his rants, his claims were later disputed by the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, who called Agyapong a ‘known liar’.
