The Overlord of Lawra Traditional Area, Naa Puowele Karbo IV, has lauded Ghana’s Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for bringing dignity and class to the office of the Vice President.
Speaking following a courtesy visit to his Palace at Lawra in the Upper West Region, the Chief, who doubles as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, said he has observed the Vice President from afar and been impressed by his work.
“The Royal Family and people of Lawra have been following your performance as the Office of Vice President of Ghana with great interest and admiration,” the Chief told the Vice President.
He continued: “Since assuming this high Office of Vice President, you have brought dignity, respect and prestige to that Office. Your competence, effectiveness, hardwork and dedication to the duties and responsibilities of that office is widely acclaimed locally and internationally.
“In particular, you have shown by your conduct, demeanour and steadfast support to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, that a Vice President can work harmoniously with a sitting President and enable him achieve their common vision,” he added.
The Lawra Naa also commended Bawumia for his excellent work in galvanising the youth and said he would be rewarded with the ‘appropriate prize of leadership’ at the right time.
The Vice President received a similar mark of approval from another Chief during his Upper West Regional tour after the Paramount Chief of the Paga Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Pe Pwanalunga-Charles Awiah Awampaga II, declared that he would become the next President of Ghana.
“We are praying for you, the whole of the Paga traditional council is praying for you in the contest as you are aspiring to be a President of the Republic of Ghana. It is our wish and prayer that you become the President. Next time, when you are coming here, you are not coming here as Vice President but you are coming as the President of the Republic of Ghana”. He declared.
