Galamsey queen, Aisha Huang has been denied bail for the second time in the ongoing prosecution over her alleged involvement in illegal mining.
An Accra Circuit Court threw out a bail application by the lawyers of Aisha Huang and come some 3 other Chinese Nationals second time.
Aisha Huang and the 3 others appeared in court on September 14 seeking for bail which was denied.
The four Chinese Nationals have been charged for various offences regarding their involving on illegal mining.
The initial charges of mining without a license and engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals, four other charges including undertaking a mining operation without a license, facilitating the participation of persons engaged in mining operation.
The other charges include, illegal employment of foreign nationals, and entering Ghana while prohibited from re-entry.
These charges were filed at the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court on Friday, September 16, 2022.
The Judge in his decision to deny Aisha Huang bail, cited the impact of the illegal mining activities on the Ghana water Company, the marine species among others.
Lead counsel pleaded to the court requested the court grant the accused and her other three Chinese nationals bail
However, the prosecutor objected to the bail stating that, granting bail to the Chinese nationals would interfere with investigations as new arrests are being made.
The prosecutor also cited public interest in the matter and the history of the accused as she been accused of sneaking in and out of the country.
