Ghanaian academic Prof. Eric Danquah of the University of Ghana has been adjudged winner of the Africa Food Prize 2022.
The $100,000 prize recognizes outstanding individuals leading the effort to change Africa’s agriculture.
The announcement was made by the Africa Food Prize Committee chairman and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo in Rwanda today.
Prof. Danquah is being celebrated for his outstanding expertise, leadership and grantsmanship skills that led to the establishment and development of the West African Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) as a world-class centre for training plant breeders in Africa for Africa.
