Member of Parliament(MP) and former Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has secured permanent jobs for some 90 NABCO trainees in his constituency.

The North Tongu MP’s intervention comes on time as the NABCO trainees contracts are due to expire today September 1, 2022.

The arrangement is courtesy the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who negotiated with the management of the Chinese firm to absorb the personnel.

NABCo which was introduced as a temporal employment by the Akufo-Addo-led administration in 2017 as part of a job creation plan saw some One Hundred Thousand personnel enrolled on various modules.

While some have transitioned into permanent jobs and others moving on to set up their own businesses, the programme which comes to an end today has some personnel who are yet to get permanent employment.

However, some 97 trainees who were going to be redundant have secured permanent employment with Sinostone Bioethanol Manufacturing Ltd (SBML) located in the North Tongu area.

Taking to twitter to announce the intervention, the North Tongu MP highlighted his intervention in the arrangement.
