Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu constituency, John Abudulai Jinapor could be in hot waters in the 2024 general election.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his tour in the Savannah regions wants the people of Yapei-Kusawgu to reconsider voting for the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 election.
Speaking to residents of Yapei-Kusawgu after inspecting the Fufulso-Bunjia road as part of his tour of the Savannah Region, President Akufo-Addo said John Jinapor has not done well for his people.
“The young man [John Jinapor] who for a long time was minister of power, 17 communities in his district still have not been connected to the electricity grid.”
Mr. Akufo-Addo was however not enthused about the state of education in the constituency as he said the member of parliament has not done enough in that regard.
The president noted that there is “no senior technical high school in the whole of the Kusawgu area.”
The president was however appreciative of the work work done by the former member of parliament for the area Seidu Amadu, who had been the MP of Yapei-Kusawgu until 2012.
The President embarked on a two-day tour of the region. Among other things the president inspected some ongoing projects. He commissioned a new compost plant in Damango as part of his tour.
