Akwasi Addai Odike has apologized to Nana Asante Bediatuo for accusing him for engaging in Illegal Mining popularly known as Galamsey.

Humbled by the threat of court proceedings, the Founder and Leader of the United Front Party UFP, Akwasi Addai Odike, has rendered an unqualified apology to the Executive Secretary to the President.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’, Mr Odike admitted that his accusation was without any factual evidence to back it.

“I must admit that it was just hearsay, I didn’t do my crosschecks if indeed he [Asante Bediatuo] was illegally engaging in mining. I retract and apologise, that was a mistake,” he humbly apologized.

Odike recently incurred the wrath of Manhyia and Ashanti chief after he accused them engaging in Galamsey in the region.

The Businessman cum Politician has refused to render an apology to the chiefs after sacrifices were made to banish him from stepping foot in Manhyia.

Lawyers for Mr Asante Bediatuo’s wrote to Mr. Odike over his comment urging him to apologise else he will face them in court.

“We are instructed to inform you [Odike] that the said publication that you put in the public domain is absolutely false.”

“It is instructive to point out to you that you ought to have taken steps to verify the authenticity of the information before publishing same in the public domain,” the letter said.

Read below the letter to Odike from Nana Asante Bediatuo.
