Former President John Mahama is rallying support for the senior national football team, the Black Stars as they engaged their Brazilian counterparts in a pre-world cup friendly match later this evening in France.
Whiles admitting that the Brazilians are the clear favorites, the former president believes the Ghanaian side can take advantage of their underdog status to upset the best ranked team in the world.
Dressed in his Ghana jersey, the former president took to facebook to show support for the Black Stars.
Ghana and Brazil have played at the senior level four times in all competitions and they won all four matches scoring 14 goals in all and conceding just two. The last two matches between the two sides were friendly which Brazil won one zero on both occasions.
The only competitive match between the two was at the one 16th stage of the 2006 World cup in Germany which ended three nil in favor of Brazil.
With the inclusion of some new players of international standards, such as Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Kudus Mohammed and Thomas, many football fans that the Ghana side has a chance of securing at least a draw against Brazil.
