Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffo Abronye, has alleged that some NDC Members of Parliament(MPs) have pleaded with him to withdraw his suit against them for receiving double salary.
The firebrand NPP Chairman alleged that, some of the MPs has tried bribing him, offering some juicy promised not only for the present, but also for the future.
Speaking in an interview with NSEM Pii TV available to theGhanaianvoice.com, Kwame Baffo Abronye alias Abronye DC said,
“Some of the NDC MPs planned and met in the Ashanti Region to beg me to withdraw my double salary suit. They were saying that if the judge rules on the case, their numbers will reduce.
“The tried to convince me by saying that if one day I want be a minister or someone close to me wants to be a minister, they will make things easier,” he added
According to the Chairman, he responded in the negative and telling them he is not interest in any ministerial position and that he is ready to accept their decision not approve him if he is to appear before them for vetting.
“I told them that I will go on with my case because I am not interested in becoming a minister, and even if one day, I want to become a minister, they can throw me out if I appear before them to be vetted. I will not die if I don’t become a minister,” he said.
The Bono regional chairman filed the suit to get appointees of Mahama who too double salaries to refund monies to the state after a proper interpretation of Article 98 of the 1992 constitution.
The Supreme court granted permission for the writ to be served on the ex-appointees of the former President John Mahama on April 2022.
The MPs are accused for taking double salaries while working as MPs and Ministers in the erstwhile administration.
