The Electricity Company of Ghana and residents of Krobo land have resolved finally resolved their differences.
The two sides have had a long stand off with intermittent violent clashes in recent times flowing from ECG’s decision to replace post paid meters there with prepaid ones.
In a statement, Samuel Dubik Mahama says ” The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited and its Board of Directors wish to thank all stakeholders especially the sector minister, Hon. Matthew Opoku-prempeh, the Minister of National Security, Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah, the political leadership, the members of Parliament of Yilo and Lower Manya Krobo, traditional leaders, heads of religious bodies and opinion leaders for their significant roles in bringing a finality to the ECG /Yilo Krobo and Lower Manya Krobo impasse”.
He assured that the ECG is ready to follow through with the roadmap as agreed, while acknowledging that it may not be easy due to the levels of misinformation among its customers in the area.
