A member of NDC communication team, Richard Prah says, it’s a curse to own a vehicle under the AKufo-Addo led administration.
According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for Nhyieaso Constituency, people who use vehicles as a need cannot afford it anymore due to high cost of fuel.
He says the growing hardship and the unpredictable nature of fuel price increment has forced many to park their cars and either trek or adopt creative ways to move about which has become cumbersome.
Speaking on Ultimate FM and citing the plight of a teacher friend, he noted that, a liter of both petrol and diesel is now higher than the daily wage of workers first ever in the county’s history.
“Times have become extra difficult and hard under Nana Addo, who has messed the lives of all Ghanaians, except his family and friends who are enjoying”.
“I know of a teacher, he lives on what we call a new site, due to the increment in petrol, he can’t drive to school again”.
“He now moves from his house, drives his kids to their school and park his car there and pick trotro, public transport to school himself. He parks his car at his kids’ school to make things easy for him” he said.
” He is using one of those small cars but he can’t still by fuel, all because of Nana Addo”
Mr. Prah noted that using a car is no more a luxury as people claim but a necessity.
“Let me tell you this, using a car is no more luxury, when you move around a lot like some of us, using a car is a need. But under this wicked leader, it is a curse to own a car… how can we be buying petrol for more than 100 cedis and diesel more than that, we are talking about 1 million old cedis ooo. If this is not wickedness what is it”, he quizzed.
“This is a man who said petrol was expensive under Mahama, when we were buying a gallon for 14 cedis”, he observed.
Richard Prah is a former candidate of the NDC in the Nhyieso Constitutency in the Ashanto Region.
