The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPASWAP) has announced that prices of sachet and bottle water will go up beginning Monday 0ctober 31, 2022.
According to a statement sighted by theGhanaianvoice.com, a sachet water is expected to be sold at 60 peswas while 1.5 litre will be sold at 5 cedis.
“Giving the urgency of the situation, an emergency stakeholder meeting was called on the 26th October, 2022, to review the effect of the continous increases of the fuel, slf films preforms and vehicles spare parts, taking into consideration the need to maintain the the production of quality packed water to the citizens.
“…….The National Executive Committee of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers(NASPAWAP) therefore recommend the following price reviews of bottled and sachet water . These reviews serve as a guide to all Regional associations to ensure uniformity across the country. The NEC also caution that there might be slight variations across regions and towns due to haulage to remote and distant areas and other overheads.”
The group says, this increment is as a result of the recent adjustment in prices of raw materials and fuel which contributes significantly to their production.
“It is recommended that iced bottle water, 500ml be retailed at GH¢2.50 and iced bottle water 750ml or medium size retailed at GH¢ 3.50, iced bottle water 1.5l be retailed at GH¢ 5.0.
“Its is also recommended that the iced sachet iced water should be retailed at 60 peswas.” The statement added.
The Association has also announced that the bag of sachet water will sell from the trucks at GH¢10.00 and will be sold at GH¢ 12.00 and GH¢15.00 depending on the location of the shop.
