Africa’s leading mobile telecommunications company, MTN Ghana has bagged five awards at the 7th InstinctBusiness Awards held at the plush hotel – Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra over the weekend, making the organization the highest recipient of the night.
InstinctBusiness awards, formerly known as InstinctBusiness Finance Innovation Awards saw crème de la crème of the business industry converged and honoured for their sterling contribution towards driving superior business services, raising industry standards as well as promoting economic growth in the country.
MTN Ghana, during the gala night received awards in the following categories; Best Use of Technology in Finance, Finance Team of the Year, Investor Relations Team of the Year, and Excellence in ESG award. For the third consecutive time, the telecommunications giant was adjudged Investor Relations Team of the Year. In addition to the corporate awards, the Chi
ef Finance Officer for MTN Ghana, Antoinette Kwofie was adjudged CFO of the Year.
Antoinette Kwofie expressed appreciation to the organizers of the event for the prestigious award and congratulated her fellow award winners. She is of the view that the award will spur them on to do more than they have started.
Delivering a keynote address at the event on the theme: “Celebrating Excellence and Innovation in Business”, Mr. Akin Naphtal, CEO/Founder of Instinctwave commended the awardees for demonstrating core values of business innovation, transformations, customer satisfaction, effective management, business sustainability and technology innovation, notwithstanding pushing the boundaries and raising the bar of excellence in the profession in spite of the effect of the covid -19 pandemic on the global work force.
He said “Over the years, the awards have evolved in refining categories and introducing new categories to promote, and reflect, the changing business enterprise in Ghana & Africa.”
“We know how difficult things are for many businesses right now. The year has seen a steady flow of difficult economic news and uncertainties in Ghana and around the world.”
“Winners tonight have proven that we can build a bright future for our respective economies in challenging times through important social contributions and commitment to the community in which we live and work, ethical behaviour and environmental sustainability.”
He urged all business leaders to work hard and raise the status quo of the industry higher.
Prestigious organizations whose efforts were lauded during the awards night included: Fidelity Bank (Best Bank in Agency Banking), Republic Bank Ghana (Mortgage Bank of the Year), Zen Petroleum (Oil & Gas Company of the Year), Glico Pensions (Innovative Pension company of the year), National Insurance Commission (Excellence in Insurance Regulation ), Ghana Export Promotion Authority (Outstanding Contribution to Export Trade), Absa Bank Ghana (Bank of the Year), Volta River Authority (CSR Company of the year), and Ghana Exim Bank (International Trade Finance Company of the Year).
