Wa Killings: Police Pursue Killers; Announces GHS100k Bounty

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GHS100,000 bounty on the head of suspects in the mysterious killings at Wa in the Upper West region

The Police Service in a statement  requesting the public for support in unravelling the mysterious disappearances.

“We continue to urge anyone with credible information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators to come forward and share with the Police. In line with this, a reward of GHC100,000 has been set aside for anyone who provides information in that regard,” a statement issued by the police said.

Meanwhile, the special purpose police intelligence and investigation teams working with members of the community on 18th September, 2022 discovered a body in a shallow grave at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa.

After the necessary crime scene examination, the body was removed and deposited at the Regional Hospital, Wa awaiting autopsy.

A pathologist from the Police Hospital is leading a team to Wa as part of investigation into the incidents.

“Analysis of intelligence gathered so far suggests that there may be more than one person involved in this heinous crime and we will do whatever it takes to get them arrested to face justice,” police said in its statement on Tuesday.

The body was later identified by family members of the deceased as Seidu Baga who was reported missing on 16th September 2022.

Suspect Kankani Adongo, was arrested on 19th September 2022 at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa after extensive collaboration between the Security and community search parties.

According to the statement “Suspect Kankani Adongo, was arrested on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa after extensive collaboration between the Police and community search parties.”
