Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia led a contingent of government bigwigs to grace a memorial service held in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The service was held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Accra, organised by the church in conjunction with the British High Commission.
Aside the Vice President, Chief of Staff Frema Osei Opare, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Harriet Thompson joined other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
“I joined other dignitaries and the congregation of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church for a commemorative service for the late Queen Elizabeth II in Accra this morning.” Dr Bawumia wrote on Facebook following the service.
“I underscored that Her Majesty demonstrated that one of the marks of leadership is to accept change and make the best of it. HM Elizabeth II embraced change as part of life and made good use of it when necessary.
“Today, we do not only celebrate the life of an individual, but we are also celebrating the quintessence of selfless public service and leadership in the modern era. May her soul continue to rest in peace,”
Earlier, Dr Bawumia signed the book of condolence for the late British monarch at the British High Commission in Accra.
Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 on September 8th 2022.
Her funeral would occur on Monday, September 19th 2022.
