The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has assured the people of Komenda that his government is on course to get the Komenda Sugar Factory fully operational.
As part of his central regional tour, the people visited the premises of the factory to have a first-hand look at the progress of the factory.
Speaking to Journalists after inspection, the president assured the resident that its left just a few touches for the factory to come on stream.
He said, the factory will be commissioned before the year end and he is committed to ensuring that happens.
“Its left with a few touches and the factory will be commissioned and full operational. I am assuring you that it will be done before the year ends.”
Taking a jibe at his predecessors for failing to deliver on the much talked about komenda factory, the president said he is not like some people who could not get the factory operational.
In February 2022, the President declared that the Sugar Factory will be fully operationalised in April 2022 when members of the Komenda Traditional Council called on him at the Jubilee House.
However, it has been over four months and the facility is still not yet operational.
As he toured parts of the region, the President again assured that the factory would be commissioned before the end of this year.
The factory, commissioned by former President John Mahama before the 2016 election, has been under lock and key mainly because managers of the factory say there are not enough raw materials to feed the factory.
