Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, Sam Nartey ‘Dzata’ George, has warned aspiring executives of the NDC on both the regional and national level that they will not receive sufficient support to be elected if they are not prepared to stand behind John Dramani Mahama as the leader of the party.

According to George, support for the ex-President is a prerequisite to receiving sufficient support from the party’s lawmakers and other movers and shakers in his constituency.

He made his opinion known in a post on his Facebook wall, shared on Wednesday, November 2nd 2022.

“Dear Regional and National Executive candidates. I bring you good tidings and wish you all well in your campaigns. I just have a short public service announcement to make.

“There are only two (2) simple criteria for our votes from Ningo-Prampram Constituency – proved competence and unflinching loyalty to our presumptive Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama. Kindly weigh yourself, your current and past actions and advice yourself accordingly.” George wrote.

He added: “I am well aware that we are not the only Constituency but as for us, these are our conditions for endorsement. We want Executives who have a track record of competence as we have seen enough incompetence from the Nana Addo looting brigade to last 5 lifetimes.

“We without fail demand unflinching loyalty to JM as condition precedent without any negotiations. These are our IMF conditionalities. If you meet the above, we welcome you with open arms and assure you of our support and votes. Y3 vote nu mp3 d3d3, m’ano asi. 🦁💪🏾🔥,”

John Dramani Mahama was President of Ghana between 2012 and 2017, having replaced the deceased John Atta Mills and subsequently winning the 2012 elections.

He lost his bid for reelection in 2016 and also lost in 2020, but is wisely considered the presumptive frontrunner not just for the NDC’s nomination but for President of Ghana in 2024.
