Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure has asked the President, Nana Akufo-Addo not to shift blame in the failure to fight against galamsey on chiefs.
According to Manasseh, the president should be held responsible to for his failure as he has the capacity to deal with the menace threatening our collective future.
In a series of tweets, the ardent critic of Akufo-Addo government said, the meeting held with chiefs in Manhyia was a joke.
He said a concert house would have been appropriate for the meeting as according to him, the meeting will yield no benefit.
“The chiefs have their own issues, but they should not be blamed for our inability to stop the illegal mining that is threatening our land and our survival. Even the stupidest person in Akufo-Addo’s cabinet knows the solution to the galamsey problem.” He said.

He added that, the president should rather be bold to fire his appointees who are failing him rather than chiefs who have little power in the fight.
“The problem is that the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces is not serious about the fight. Who deploys the soldiers to supervise and guard illegal mining and licensed illegal mining activities? Who appoints the defence minister and the CDS?”
