The spokesperson for the vice president, Gideon Boako has debunked allegations leveled against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during his two-day tour of the Northern Region.
According to some persons in the region, Bawumia visit has a campaign undertone as he has been tagged as a possible candidate in the NPP flagbearership race.
Dr. Bawumia embarked on a two-day tour of the Northern Region on Sunday October 2, 2022 to visit some constituencies as well as inspect some ongoing projects in the region.
He also took the opportunity to interact with the chief and people of the Northern Region.
While some have suggested the tour is an agenda for Bawumia to introduce himself to the people of the area, other believe it is just his mandate to go on such tours.
His Spokesperson has however emerged to debunk the suggestions, stating the real intentions of the tour.
Dr. Gideon Boako speaking in a Citinews interview said, the Vice President was merely engaging with people in his community.
“Some of them are technically not party people, but the fact that he lives within their community, he has property within their community, and he comes back home after work, they want to visit him and talk to him, and it is quite normal.
“It is time for him to avail himself to the community for people to come and interact with him,” he added.
