The Chief Executive Officer of the Produce Buying Company (PBC), Richard Akuoko Adiyiah, has passed away.
Adiyiah was found dead in a chair in his home on Friday, September 30th 2022. He was 67 years old.
Aside being the CEO of the PBC, Adiyiah was a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano North, serving one term between 2009 and 2013.
The late Adiyiah was a financial and international development guru.
He worked with the United Nations for over a decade across continents. Mr Adiyia worked as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at United Nations Observers Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG). He was in charge of Budget and Finance at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Geneva, Switzerland as well as the Finance Officer, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), New York, USA.
Prior to be appointed to the PBC, he served as Financial Controller of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited and was credited as being part of a team that has transformed the state-owned Distilleries Company.
He was also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi.
The former MP leaves behind a wife and four children.
A staunch Christian, he was a member of the Lighthouse Chapel International.
