Embattled Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency and the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has notched another milestone in her academic career.
The MP has completed her courses and bagged a post-graduate diploma from the University of Nottingham in Public Procurement Law and Policy.
Sharing photos of her new diploma, Safo wrote: “What God cannot do, does not exist. Post Graduate Diploma in Public Procurement Law and Policy bagged. To God be the Glory.”
The embattled MP has a distinguished history in both public procurement and law.
A trained lawyer, she served as the Minister for Public Procurement during the first term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
During the President’s second term, Safo became Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, a position she held until she was stripped off it this year.
Safo spent over a year in the United States, away from her duties in Parliament and at the Ministry, leading to the President eventually taking the decision to fire her in July 2022.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament would make a decision on her future as an MP once Parliament returns from recess in October.
Sarah Adwoa Safo holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the Ghana School of Law, Makola, completed in 2002.
She moved on to receive a Master’s Degree in procurement law from the George Washington University in 2005.
In 2020, she bagged a MASTER OF LAWS (LLM) in public procurement law and policy.
